Short update
I am using the new gadget to post this. A lot has happened the past months but i haven't written anything on this blog yet. Hopefully i'll get myself to write here for the following days. For now, i'll just share this photo of my baon for the day, adobong pusit. Have a great day everyone!

Coron Getaway with SS (Dec 8-10, 2011)
Last Thursday, Ann, Jan and I went to Coron for a 3-day vacation. The trip was booked in Cebupacificair (I remember on a 50% off promo, amounting to P2700++/head) last October, but the tour package was just arranged 2 days before the date of travel (talk about cramming haha!) We availed a tour package from a travel agency, wherein our accomodation is on Divelink Resort, inclusive of breakfast for the entire duration of stay and 1.5days of tour. Package was priced to P6,400 per person.
Day 1
Our flight was scheduled 9:20am but we left around 9:40am already due to some traffic issues of aircrafts in the runway. One hour flight then we arrived before 11:00am at Francisco Reyes Airport, Busuanga Island. We then rode a shuttle going to the port (would cost P150/person, one way, but this is already part of our package already). Then spent 20minutes going to Divelink. Our accomodation is in Usong Island.
Upon arrival at the resort, we were served welcome drinks and then the manager, Mr. Long, gave some briefing regarding the things about the resort. After it, we then went to our room to wait for the boat for our half-day trip.
Our half-day trip consisted of going to Malcapuya and Banana Island. Going to Malcapuya is 1.5-hour boat ride, but the beach was really something. The lunch that was included in the package was served to us while in that island. I won't forget the yummy crabs that we ate during that time!Too bad I did not take any shot of those Mr. Krabby.
After lunch, we just lounged around, took some pics, and swam for a while. Then we head off to our next destination, which is Banana Island. We stayed there for just few minutes since there's not much to see. Our guide told us that guests normally stay overnight there since there are cottages available. I think I like it better in Banana Island. Or maybe it just happened that there were less people in Banana than in Malcapuya when we are there. But in terms of photo opp, I definitely would choose Malcapuya because of those rock formations found at both ends. Sad to say I was not able to take some photos there.
It took us longer to go back to the resort since it started to rain. It was my first time to be on a boat during night time. One of our guides even used flashlight to alert other boats that we might encounter (Some used blinking lights on top of the boat's roof).
We were thinking of going to the other restaurant to eat grilled food and use the videoke. But we were too tired that we didn't even wake up to eat dinner since the main restaurant closes at 10:00pm.
I'll share our island tour on the second day on my next post. That was what I consider memorable during our stay. Thinking of it makes me want to go to Palawan again. I miss the lagoon already :p

Think Rich Yuppies and Hanzflorentino.com
Last week I bought a book from one of the financial bloggers I follow. Her name is Sha Nacino and she is one of the author of the book Think Rich Yuppies (co-author is Trace Trajano). I was able to finish the book, for few hours, and I enjoyed reading it, specially those parts where she relates real life experiences. And yes, I intentionally bought this book so I'll have this constant reminder of managing the use of my credit cards. I was more than happy when my mother told me that the book was signed by the two authors. Thanks for the goodluck Ms. Sha and Mr. Trace!

I got curious since he was a young man who was brave enough to resign from his stable job (I remember he is already a manager at the age of 22), to pursue his passion and to do more things with his life.My target is to explore more on the things that can be read on his site. If you have time, you might want to check it out as well. I find his site's intro interesting as well =)
I still have lots of things to plan for the coming year. Hopefully, by end of December, I already have something that can be executed by mid January. Wish me luck!

Focus.Focus.Focus
It's been two months since my last post. I was struggling these past few weeks with regards to the saving/investment ideas versus my fondness with shopping. And i think during the entire month of November, I was more on the shopping side. I feel really happy when I am able to shop, not just for me but for my family as well (I already bought them their pamasko). But I know that the savings habit will be affected. I am still trying to focus on balancing these two. I am still drafting my new budget for 2012. And hopefully I will find something that will work for me. I'm planning to retain just one credit card next year (I already cut one, and eventually the other for next year).
Anyways, December will be a very busy month. I have work, then the christmas party presentation (which i definitely enjoy because we get to jam in band studios), and the endless get together that will come up. I'm really excited to see my friends specially those that I haven't seen for years. And I am hoping that 2011 will wrap up with lots of fun memories that I can look back to :)

Bacolod Trip with Family
This was my first time that I treated my family for an out of trip. And I'm really happy because it was also their first time to ride a plane. I booked our flight last February 25, when Cebupac had their regular promo fare whenever there's an occasion. Our flight costs P1252, round trip tickets for 6 persons. Super cheap right? :)
We spent 3 days in Bacolod, which were mostly consisting of lounging and eating. We stayed at Saltimboca Inn along Lacson St. for two nights. We were on separate rooms on our first night, with 2 single beds each. Then on the second night, we transferred to a family room, which has 4 single beds. The pension inn has gazebo, adult and kiddie pool and restaurant. The receptionist are all friendly and they were really helpful with regards to answering my inquiries about commuting.
We tried some of the restaurants that were recommended by some users in Girtalk. And all six of us fell in love with the food served at Bob's Restaurant. We ate there twice since we really enjoyed their delicious Lechon Macao and Fish & Chips. And by the way, the waiter that served us during dinner, Kuya Rajie is really super nice. He was always there ready to refill our bottomless drinks, and served our orders in a snap.
We also went to eat at Manokan Country along a street near SM Bacolod. We chose Aida's, since we were curious why there were lots of people eating there, while others only have few. And when we went inside, we saw an advertisement that they already have a branch in Makati Square. And the number of people inside made sense. With regards to the food, my brother and mother thought that there was nothing special to it. My brother even said that he liked Mang Inasal more, since the latter offers unlimited rice haha!
Calea's was the only cafe that we visited for dessert. We went there and ordered a slice of cake each. And I ordered additional slices since I read (from Girltalk) that pecan pie and mudpie should be tried at the cafe. And yes, they were right! I personally love the choco mousse bomb and mudpie. Pecan pie got the vote of my mother.
We also visited Mambukal Resort, a mountain resort in Murcia, Bacolod. It was a one hour drive since we only went there by commuting (2 rides from Lacson St.). It was a place where you can see the 7 falls, but we decided not to take the tour and just settled for the swimming pool since the tour entails one hour of walking.
On our third day, I was feeling a little bit down that we were not able to go the places that I have on my list. Good thing I decided the last minute that we check The Ruins. And I made the right decision since the place was really amazing! It was an old(destroyed) mansion owned by Don Mariano Lacson, which was set on fire during the World War II. The place is serene and I love the beautiful garden outside. Kuya Ruel, the taxi driver we hired told me that the venue is used for weddings and the likes. And I would agree that it would be a beautiful place for one if not for the road that leads to the place (I can imagine how creepy it would be at night). We only spent 15minutes there, which is why i regret not agreeing to Kuya Ruel's offer to go there around 3pm. I think I might visit The Ruins again if ever I go to Bacolod again.
By the way, when we were at the Silay Airport waiting for our flight back to Manila, we saw Christian Vasquez. My mother said that he is an Ilonggo. I even thought that the man he was talking to was his father during his first commercial. And that made me remember the time when I encountered Kuya Kim during my Legazpi flight last February (saw him at the line entering NAIA Terminal 3, and inside the airplane!).
Even if i did not see a beautiful beach in Bacolod, I think I might visit it again. I still wanted to try some of the restaurants that I was not able to go to (Bascon Cafe, Pendy's, etc) and I also want to see how the city transform when it is already time for the Masskara Festival. Hope I can go there next year!
